In the film, the habitat of the quarry is explored on a Sunday. Where fossils are usually processed into gravel through extractive practices, everything is quiet on this day and a new encounter takes place: the fossil collector can now search the basalt rocks for traces of distant life. He, like the quarry, stands between worlds and reads in the stone of past catastrophes that mirror today’s destruction of the ecosystem.
