Pomo D’Orographies is a short film that exposes the connection of migration and trade of canned tomatoes between Italy and Ghana. The film layers animations and intimate conversations, to shed light on the multiple lifeworlds nestled within the tomato, threading its colonial roots to its neo-colonial present. The supply chain is disrupted and narrated in a non-linear manner, by using collective cooking and embroidery of an inherited tablecloth, as a way to uncover policy changes, archive and honor voices, realities and histories that counter italian nationalistic narratives around food.
