In May 2027, art+film+vienna will host its fourth festival edition at the Breitenseer Lichtspiele. From now on, filmmakers, artists, and other creators working with experimental moving-image practices on and beyond the cinema screen are invited to submit their projects via FilmFreeway. In addition to single-channel film and video works, submissions may incorporate performative, spatial, installation-based, interactive, or live elements. a+f+v explores the intersections of film, visual art, performance, sound, and digital media, providing a platform for projects that challenge conventional formats, categories, and modes of presentation.

For the most recent edition of a+f+v, we received outstanding submissions from artists in more than 60 countries. This breadth of perspectives contributed significantly to the festival’s artistic diversity and the strength of its programme.
